Don't believe what they tell you, living in France is EASY! What's more of a challenge is living here and making sure you get the great 'French experience.' Who wants to spend months in one of the most beautiful countries in the world stuck in an apartment, dreaming of home and gorging on imported Oreos? Not us and surely not you.
When you arrive in Lyon you will meet the Study Abroad Liaisons and Coordinators whose job is to be your problem solvers, tour guides, and general know-it-alls during your time here, so that when you leave France you'll be sobbing all the way to the airport.
On this website you will find the information you need to squeeze France dry. If the info isn't here, you can contact us and we'll find out. So what are you waiting for...?
First piece of valuable information: Oreos are in fact available in all good french stores.
Everything you ever wanted to know aobout our school and our program. It really is very exciting and well written!
Does France have electricity? Will my accommodation have a roof? How far to the nearest croissant store?
This man is Paul. He has assembled a crack team of support staff to make sure that every problem is solved!
We would like everyone to arrive on Wednesday 4th January so we can meet you at the airport. From there we'll take a taxi to the residence. On Thursday morning you'll get to know the area around the residence and will be helped to do all the tedious but important stuff like getting a phone and a travel pass. In the afternoon you will come to CEFAM and we'll set you on your 'jeu de piste' - a very sexy treasure hunt thing where you'll discover some of the delights of Lyon including the whereabouts of CEFAM's three campuses. After the treasure hunt there will be an opportunity for refreshment ;-)
On January 6th (that's Friday for those of you still with jet lag!) there will be an orientation meeting at the school around 10am. That evening you are all invited to meet the staff and administration of CEFAM - as well as the Study Abroad team - at a dinner.
Other activities for this semester will include a cheese tasting, a wine tasting, a mystery visit and no doubt many more exciting diversions
Oh, and by the way, classes begin on the 9th January. That's why you're here, right?
